Albuquerque International Sunport To Close East/West Runway For Maintenance

The Albuquerque International Sunport will close the east/west runway (Runway 8-26) beginning on Monday November 2 for a period of approximately four days for maintenance.  All commercial air traffic will be shifted to the northeast/southwest runway (Runway 3-21) during this period.

The closure will enable crews to conduct routine maintenance on the runway to ensure safety and compliance with federal regulations.

The use of Runway 3-21 will increase over flights in parts of the city, but specific takeoff and landing patterns are determined by the FAA and will vary based on weather conditions and other factors.

The Albuquerque International Sunport is a world-renowned facility that welcomes nearly five million travelers per year. The Albuquerque International Sunport is owned by the City of Albuquerque and operated by the Aviation Department. For Sunport information, please visit our web site at or call (505) 244-7700.
