Albuquerque International Sunport Launches Flight Tracking and Noise Reporting System – July 9, 2018

The Albuquerque International Sunport is releasing the first major initiative under its community engagement, transparency and innovation plan, launched under its new leadership.

Beginning today, residents can access the Sunport’s aircraft flight tracking and noise complaint system, backed by Harris Corporation’s PublicVue, a leader in air traffic management. Within the system, users can view active flights near the Sunport, search through historical flight data, and report noise concerns directly to airport personnel.

“Our vision for the airport is not only to serve as the state’s hub for getting around the world, but also as a valuable partner for the community,” said Nyika Allen, Aviation Director for the City of Albuquerque. “We want residents to know that we hear them and we work for them – that means through the good and the bad. We want to alleviate aircraft noise as much as possible without hindering airport operations.”

Noise complaints aren’t a new phenomenon for the Sunport. However, this system makes reporting noise and identifying possible causes much easier for residents and also provides more specific information for the airport operations team to analyze and assess.

Sunport officials will be hosting a community meeting and live demonstration on Thursday, July 12 beginning at 5:30 pm in the Aviation Press Room located on the second level of the airport. To access the flight tracking and noise complaint system, visit
