Sunport Prepares Local Businesses to be a Part of its Future
Free, virtual event will provide information about upcoming opportunities to operate at the reimagined Sunport
ALBUQUERQUE — With major construction now underway for its “Dream of Flight” terminal renovation, the Albuquerque International Sunport will host a free, virtual information session about the upcoming concessions redevelopment project on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 10:00 am MST.
The Dream of Flight renovation project includes a complete concessions redevelopment and associated Request for Proposals (RFP), targeted for release before the end of Q1 of 2023. The info session will review the vision behind the concessions redevelopment, detail the basics of operating concessions units at the airport, and recap the Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) program—a federal program enacted to ensure nondiscrimination and create a level playing field on which ACDBEs compete fairly for concessions at airports. A key metric for considering proposals is ACDBE certification.
“We are thrilled to kick off 2023 and the start of major construction by hosting this virtual forum for potential new partners interested in operating at the Sunport,” said Manny Manriquez, Aviation Department Innovation and Commercial Development Manager. “We are engaging proactively with the local business community to create more opportunities for New Mexicans as we reimagine our entire culinary and retail concessions program.”
