Local Offerings to Showcase New Mexico’s People, Products and Culture

ALBUQUERQUE —

This week, Mayor Tim Keller and the Aviation Department welcomed 14 of the Sunport’s new concessionaires during its Taste of Sunport celebration at the Old Terminal Building. The event offered a sneak peek of the Sunport’s revamped food and beverage offerings, which is a significant part of its once-in-a-generation, $87 million Dream of Flight terminal renovation. Some of the new offerings will be available beginning this fall, and the entire redeveloped program is expected to be completed by Summer of 2025.

“The Sunport is the first and last stop for folks flying to and from Albuquerque, and now travelers can enjoy local flavors we know and love,” said Mayor Tim Keller. Our airport is undergoing a generational upgrade, making it even more important to give local businesses opportunities to grow and thrive. Special thanks to all the members of the Sunport Advisory Board, as well the Aviation Department for delivering exceptional offerings and of course to all our vendors for being part of this transformation.”

“The new offerings are a part of our modernization and renovation program and represent an investment in our city’s communities,” said Gary Gilliard, Aviation Department Deputy Director. “We welcome our new vendors with open arms and are eager to offer their world-class dining options for travelers from all over and residents alike.”

“We wanted to showcase the new concessions because we know members of our community are excited about it,” said Manny Manriquez, Aviation Department Deputy Director of Innovation and Commercial Development. “We focused on local vendors because we want the world to get a taste of New Mexico while they are passing through our city. Our new culinary lineup highlights the diversity of our food, and the Sunport will serve as a platform for our people and products to shine.
