Sunport Amenities
mother’s nursing room
We know traveling can be stressful, especially if you’re traveling with little ones. That’s why we have the Mother’s Nursing Room. While the new permanent nursing room is being built as part of the Dream of Flight terminal renovation, a temporary room is located at the south end of the secure exit corridor. This peaceful and private room provides a comfortable space for nursing and changing.
pet relief room
The Sunport has a full-service indoor service animal relief area, located at gate A7, and two outdoor relief areas located outside of the baggage claim level on both the east and west ends of the building. The indoor relief room is complete with a beautiful view of the Albuquerque Bosque, synthetic grass and a fire hydrant to create a comfortable environment for your service animal/pet.
While all traveling animals are welcome to use the relief area, preference is given to service animals.
meditation room
Guests, travelers, and employees at the Sunport who wish to spend some quiet time away from the hustle and bustle are welcome
to use the Meditation Room. The Albuquerque Aviation Department recently renovated and furnished the space with beautiful features. Although no formal worship services are scheduled on a regular basis, this space is used from time to time for religious services.
cavalcade of wings
Cavalcade of Wings is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit that has been documenting and displaying the aviation history for the Albuquerque Sunport, Kirtland Air Force Base, and the State of New Mexico since 1965. The aviation museum at the Albuquerque Sunport began with one display case and 25 models in 1965 and now contains over 900 commercial, military, and private aircraft models in 18 display cases.
The Albuquerque Sunport plans to relocate the Cavalcade of Wings Aviation History Museum to accommodate the ongoing “Dream of Flight” construction project. Here are the architect’s renderings of the proposed design solution showing new display cases located in the Great Hall underneath the existing Ingram-Foster Biplane display.

observation deck (closed for renovations)
Have some time to kill before your flight boards? Try gazing through the 1,750 square feet of glass at our observation deck. It offers views of all three of the airport’s runways, so you can watch planes soar into the sky, appear out of nowhere and touch down. All that nature has to offer to the east, south, and west also can be seen. It provides a peaceful and more quiet space with the entertainment of the airfield. A plaque mounted on a railing in the 2,500-square-feet deck says: “Dedicated to the children of Albuquerque. May the eternal wonder of flight cause your imagination to soar.”
